Even though Aloysius was now safe and out of harms way, Aimee still couldn't help but worry. Why did Caspian do this? What was he trying to accomplish? When did he start becoming so psychotic? So many questions, that she may never get the answer to. Another thing she couldn't believe, and made her feel terribly guilty, is that Aloysius had been in Caspian's house the whole time, and she had no idea. She had even been in Caspian's house! That wasn't a dog, that was her fiance, or the young girl with him. It make her sick.
After a couple hours or so, the doctors informed Aimee that she could finally come and see Aloysius. She went inside of his room, at by his bed, and held his hand in silence.

Aloysius was unconscious. He had passed out sometime between being rescued and arriving at the hospital. And in fact, he had no recollection of either of these things. As far as he knew he was still trapped in that horrible room, because that was the last thing he remembered.
So it was no surprise that his first reaction as he started to come to was confusion and, by default, fear. Warm blankets and a soft bed were luxaries he'd all but forgotten. Rather than take comfort, he became uneasy and agitated. What was this? He opened his eyes to an unfamiliar place. Where was he?
"Where am I?" he asked fearfully, not even realizing he was talking out loud.

When Aloysius woke, Aimee's heart started to pound. "Aloysius," she said quietly. "You're in a hospital." He looked so scared, and it broke her heart. She wanted to protect him, protect him from everything, as best as she could.

When he heard someone speak, Aloysius jumped, jerking his hand away from them. He hadn't even noticed anyone else in the room. No, in the...hospital? He looked up. "Ai...Aimee...?" he rasped. His head spun. His heart pounded. What was going on? Aloysius couldn't make sense of anything that was happening, and it scared him.

Aimee bit her bottom lip, and nodded. "Yes honey it's me," she said. "Aimee." She wanted to reach out and smooth his hair back, but he was already so scared. What if it just scared him even more. "Aloysius," she said. "It's okay..."

"...It's okay..." Aloysius repeated blankly, as if that was the strangest thing he'd ever heard. It had been a long time since he'd heard a warm, comforting voice reassure him of anything. He felt far from reassured. He was still anxious and fearful. "How did I get here? What's going on? What happened?"

Aimee leaned forward and told Aloysius everything. She told him about going to Lyra for help, about how Lyra's dragon had followed the sent of Aloysius and Savannah to Caspian's home, how he destroyed the front of the house, opened the room Aloysius and Savannah was trapped in, how Aimee helped Aloysius up, and how Lyra helped Savannah, then she told him about riding Lyra's dragon to the hospital's of Maisigh and Saelin.
"And that's everything," she finished, feeling out of breath. Aimee sat back up straight, and watched Aloysius, to see what he'd do or say next.

As disturbed as Aloysius was that he didn't remember that at all, despite apparently being conscious for it, relief washed over him like a wave on a beach. It...it was over. He was saved. He looked dazedly around the room, finally taking it all in. He was in a hospital, his leg was in a cast, he wasn't in that prison room, Aimee was here. His gaze stopped on her. Aimee was here.
"Oh my god...Aimee..." he whimpered, reaching out for her. I'm going to assume she hugged him, and he clung to her like a frightened child. "I n-never thought I'd see you again," he sobbed into her shoulder.

Aimee held onto Aloysius tightly, and rubbed his back with one of her hands. "Oh Aloysius," she said quietly. "Oh my baby." The hand on his back still rubbed it comfortably, and her other hand made it's way into his hair. "It's okay now," she soothed. "Sh, sh, it's okay." She turned her head and kissed the side of his. "It's okay..."

It took Aloysius a while to calm down. Despite Aimee telling him over and over that everything would be "okay," he wasn't sure that, after all the pain and humiliation and other horrible things he had endured over the past he-didn't-even-know-how-long, anything would ever be okay ever again.
Finally he managed to compose himself, and pulled away from Aimee, wiping his eyes. "W-when can I go home?" he questioned quietly. Maybe he'd feel safer there. He didn't feel safe here. But he didn't know how bad his injuries were.

"The doctors told me," Aimee replied. "That you can be out of here by a week." She reached out and took his hand back into hers, and stroked his hand with her thumb. "I'll stay with you," she told him. "I'll stay in this hospital until they tell me you can leave...I'm not leaving your side."

Aloysius stared down. "You don't have to do that," he said, even though his mind was screaming at her not to leave him alone. He didn't want to be alone. He was afraid. Aimee was the only person he trusted...Aimee wouldn't hurt him. She wouldn't. She would protect him. Right? Half-subconsciously, he pulled his hand away from hers.
He tried to push the doubtful thoughts from his mind. Wanting to change the subject, he asked, "H-how bad...?" looking at his casted leg.

"I know that I don't," Aimee replied. "But I'm going to anyway." She smiled slightly, then felt him pull away from her hand slightly and frowned. What happened to her fiance? What made him so frightened. She understood, that being beaten would terrify anybody, but what happened in that little room?
"Well," she said with a sigh. "They said that...you'll be able to walk, but not normally...ever again." The frown on her face didn't go away. "They told me that you might have to walk with a cane."

"...Oh," Aloysius said after a long, painful pause. Never be able to walk normally again? Of course that thought had crossed his mind when his leg had been crushed, but he had hoped against the odds. He wouldn't be able to dance with Aimee at their wedding. Or run and play with their kid. Their kid that Aimee didn't know he even knew about.
He turned away so that Aimee wouldn't see the anguished look on his face before he could make his expression go blank. Even though he was out of that room, and supposedly safe for the time being, he didn't feel any freer. It wasn't like it changed anything Caspian had done to him. It didn't take any of it away. He was still trapped.
"Are there any bigger hospital rooms?" he asked, his mouth dry. He was starting to feel like he really was back in that room. That little prison of a room. His heart started to pound more rapidly. "I-I feel kind of...claustrophobic in here."

Aimee watched him with a worried look on her face. She watched his face change from a pained look, to a blank one. She could tell that he was trying to hide the fact that he was upset. "Oh," she said. "I'm sure there are, I can get you one." She bit her bottom lip, then asked, "Would you like me to find out now?"
