It was noon, and Juliet was bored. She'd been up since six in the morning working at the cute little bed and breakfast she recently been hired at and she'd just gotten off her shift. It was rather warm today, so as she walked along the cobblestone road she decided instead of going back to her small apartment she'd go swimming.
She'd gotten paid today so she treated herself to a new bikini before walking the half hour to the little pond that lay just outside of Saelin's borders. The water was shining, reflecting the light from the warm sun that shone down on it.
Juliet slipped behind a tree and changed quickly into her new polka dot bikini before dropping her clothes and sprinting to the water's edge. Without a moment's hesitation she jumped into the water, leaving a small splash behind as she went all the way under.

Faron was bored as well. He got bored very easily, and unfortunately didnt tolerate boredome very well. If he couldn't find anything constructive to do, then he usually ended up doing something, well, destructive. Not that he did anything uber terrible. He wasn't an idiot. Just some little things that others might frown upon.
Maybe he could go swimming. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but he needed to do something to pass the time. Plus, every once in a while, there'd be a cute girl or guy at the pond. That would give him something to do.
He got down to the pond, wearing a plain gray T-shirt and blue swim trunks, and was pleased to see a pretty girl in a polka dot bikini jump into the water just as he arrived. Maybe this would be a lucky day. He pulled his shirt off, but didn't jump in the water right away. The girl was under there somewhere, and he didn't want to land on her or anything.

After gliding under the water for a few moments, Juliet resurfaced in the middle of the pond. She treaded water as she ran a hand through her blonde hair, moving it out of her eyes. She was facing the other way so she didn't notice the cutie watching her from behind.
It was a gorgeous day and the sun had warmed the water perfectly. Sure, it was a little chilly, but Juliet knew she'd get used to it quickly. Juliet was about to dive back underwater when she heard a frog jump into the pond. She turned behind her to see if she could see it, but instead found something much better.
"Why, hello there," she said to the too-cute boy in blue trunks. His swimsuit totally matched his eyes, and with such dark hair his eyes really stood out. He looked like a bottle of perfection or something. Juliet liked. c:

Faron smiled at her. "Hi," he replied amiably. He could tell by the look on the girl's face and the tone of her voice that she was interested in him. Well, that she was interested in the way he looked, at least. To be honest he was pretty interested in the way she looked too. She was a pretty little thing. He wanted to see where this could go. "I'm Faron. Mind if I join you?"

"Oh, no, come on in," Juliet said with a smile. "I'm Juliet, by the way," she added, her eyes shining. "I just thought it was so nice today, it was a perfect time for a swim. Looks like I wasn't the only one, huh?" she said playfully.
He really was gorgeous, and it wasn't like there was any one thing about him that made him so attractive. It was his whole look. It was nice touch that the first time she got to meet him he already had his shirt off. ;)
It was good that Juliet wasn't a shy girl, because she was really attracted to him.

Faron smiled again and dove gracefully into the water. He liked the feel of the chilly water, and stayed under a few moments before surfacing near Juliet. "It is a perfect time to swim," he agreed, treading water since he couldn't reach the bottom where he was. "Do you come here a lot, Juliet?"

"Mmhm," she said with a smile. "It's one of my favorite places in Aaeria. So calm and pretty, and it seems like not a lot of people come here, but I don't know why. It's such a great place for a picnic or just for a swim like now."
Juliet came here a lot alone, but she also frequently brought a few friends with her. It was nice to be quiet and have time by herself but she also loved hanging out with her friends. But even though she'd come here alone today, it was nice to have someone to talk to.

"Yeah, this is the first time I've been here in a while," Faron replied honestly. He didn't like doing the same things or going to the same places too many times. He got bored with things quickly. And it seemd like lately, there was less and less he was interested in doing. He needed some new stuff to do.
Oh well, for now he'd just stick with one of his most common pasttimes; chatting up attractive strangers. That was one thing that hadn't gotten too boring yet. "I'm glad I decided to come today though," he went on, "I'd have hated to miss meeting you."
Yeah, he knew it sounded ridiculously corny. But it seemed like Juliet was the type of girl who would like corny, and he always told people what they wanted to hear. He wasn't sure why some girls (and even a few guys) liked such stupid things, but hey, whatever worked.

Juliet blushed. "Oh ha ha," she said, giggling a little. She liked it when boys flirted with her, it made her feel good.
"What did bring you out here?" she asked, swimming over a bit so she could rest her feet on the bottom. She was pretty fit, but she still didn't want to be treading water forever in the middle of the pond.

Juliet certainly was predictable. Most people were. Faron leaned backwards so that he was floating on his back. He put his hands behind his head in a relaxed position. "Boredom," he replied honestly. Wow, two truthful statements in one conversation. It was like a record for him or something. Usually the only truth he gave about himself was his name. Okay, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration, but he really wasn't an honest person most of the time. "There's just nothing to do back home, you know?"

"I know exactly what you mean," she said, thinking about how bored she would have been if she had just gone home. It sucked living alone in a small apartment.
"What's it like, living in Maisigh?" she asked. It was the only clan she'd never lived in, and she'd always wondered. All of her friends nowadays were from her own clan. Stupid prejudices and long time feuds.

Faron gave a bit of a shrug. "It's okay," he replied indifferently. "I like the city. Don't get me wrong, wilderness is great, but I prefer living in the more," he searched for the right word, because he thought saying 'civilized' might offend Juliet, "urban environment. And I definitely like the abilities that come with it."
He flipped over so he was no longer floating on his back and, as if to prove his statement, had sort of a bubble of water rise up out of the pond, float lazily around their heads for a moment, and then sink back into the rest of the water.
"How do you like it in Saelin?"

Juliet watched as the bubble of water rose out of the water. She blinked, and then it sank back down, becoming one with the pond. "That is something I could definitely live with," she said with a smile. "But Saelin is really cool. I like turning into an animal. I've always been an animal person anyways, so it's nice."
The only thing she didn't like about it was that people could instantly judge you. Animal forms were directly linked to your personality, so sometimes people didn't even give you a chance before labeling you.

Faron had never been an animal person at all, but he wasn't about to tell Juliet that. He cared about animals about as much as he cared about other people, which wasn't at all. People were just more interesting. "What type of animal do you turn into?" he questioned.

"Savannah cat," Juliet answered with a smile. "It's like a serval sorta," she said, hoping he'd know what a serval was. Most people didn't, so she added, "Like a cuter version of a mini leopard."
Juliet bit her lip for a moment in thought. "I bet you'd be something cute too. Like, like a penguin or something." Juliet loved penguins. <3
