Lux was chillaxing at Fern Lake on this fine monday evening. It was getting late, though it wasn't quite dark yet. He probably wouldn't stay out way too much longer, since he didn't want to be out when it got dark. Not because he was afraid to be or anything, he just didn't particularly enjoy stumbling around blindly in the dark. After all, there were no lights in Aaeria besides the stars, and it was cloudy.
He got up and stretched, getting ready to head out, when he saw a familiar face off in the distance. At least he thought it was a familiar face. It looked like the girl he had met recently, Mia. Mia was a cool girl, and she and Lux had made plans for him to show her all the fun stuff there was to do around here, and to teach her how to swim.
He sort of half walked, half jogged over to her. "Hey!" he greeted happily. He'd been hoping to run into Mia again soon.

Cara had been out all day, exploring everything there was to be explored around Maisigh. She loved being able to be outside, without having to wear a giant coat. She was able to climb around on things a lot easier, without the big bulky stuff to get in her way.
As she was making her way toward the lake, a guy called out to her, and it made her stop. Who was this guy? What if he was a creep? She stopped walking, and stood her ground. "Uhm," she replied, as he got closer. "Hi?"

Lux stopped for a moment and his smile faltered. Mia was looking at him like he was some sort of creep. Did she not recognize him or something? It's not like he looked any different today than he looked the day they had met, other than wearing different clothes, obviously. "Um...don't you remember me?" he asked with slight uncertainty. That would really suck if the cute girl he'd met not long ago had already forgotten about him.

"No I don't," Cara replied. "I don't think I've ever met you before ever." He looked disapointed. A cute guy like him shouldn't look disapointed. "Maybe you've met my sister?"

"If you and your sister are identical..." Lux replied slowly. That was possible. Identical twins. He thought back on his conversation with Mia and tried to remember if she said anything about having a twin, but he couldn't remember. Well, if she did have a twin, that meant....oh geez. He was totally talking to the wrong person.
Slightly embarrassed, he asked, "So then, what's your name? Are you Mia's sister?"

Cara nodded. "Yes," she replied. "Mia is my twin sister." She smiled, glad that she was making friends. "My name is Cara," she held out her hand to shake his. "What's your name?"

Lux shook her hand, still a tiny bit embarrassed that he had mistaken her for someone else, but whatever. He was over it. "Lux," he replied. "I didn't know Mia had a twin sister. Obviously."
Conversationally, he added, "So. You're from Iceland, right? Mia told me it was tiny and boring. Do you like it here in Maisigh so far?" He wondered if anyone could not like it here better after living on a chunk of ice in the middle of the ocean their whole life.

"Oh my goodness!" Care replied. "I love it here!" She smiled brightly, "You have no idea how boring Iceland got." She stuck her hands into the back pockets of her pants and kept talking. "Once you've climbed one iceberg you've pretty much climged them all." She shook her head. There was no trees, to climb, no rivers to explore. She loved Iceland, but she hated how boring it was. "I love these woods, I haven't been out of them ever since me and my sister got here." Then she giggled, "Well, I return home when it's dark." She rocked onto her heals the said, "I'm sorry, am I talking too much?"

"What? No," Lux replied, surprised that she would even ask that. "No, you don't talk too much. I don't think there's such a thing as talking too much. People tell me I talk too much sometimes. I dunno, I just always have something to say I guess. Haha. Anywho, I'm glad you like it here. There's always somethin to do." He paused, randomly remembering how Mia had told him she couldn't swim. "Do you know how to swim?" he asked out of pure curiosity.

"A little," Cara replied. "But you can't really swim much in Iceland." She shrugged, "I can doggy paddle though." She giggled, "And I can float pretty well." She knew that floating in the water was an imporant thing to do. "My sister can't even do that though."

"I know," Lux replied. Smiling, he declared, "I'm gonna teach her how! Haha. Just you wait. Under my tutelage, she'll be swimming like a pro in no time." He had actually never taught anyone how to swim before, but how hard could it be? Swiming was easy. He learned how when he was but a wee little child. If someone could teach a small child to swim, then he could teach a teenager how to swim.

Cara giggled. "Good luck!" She told him, "Mia is afraid of a lot of things." She grinned, "On our way here, she was afraid of the boat we were on." She shook her head. Her sister was so silly, but she loved her anyway.

"I think she told me that," Lux replied, amused. "That's okay though! It's not like I'm just gonna toss her in the ocean. She'll be fine."
He paused thoughtfully for a second, hesitated, and then asked slowly, "Hey Cara...Does, um, Mia have a boyfriend or anything?" He lowered his lead slightly and looked up at Cara, almost shyly.

Cara shook her head. "No," she replied. "As far as I know, Mia is single." She shrugged then smiled. "Do you like her?" That would be so cute if he liked her. If he did, she wondered if Mia would ever like him back.

"Er," Lux replied, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. He looked away briefly. "Yeah, kinda. I mean, I don't know her that well yet, but...you never know." The awkwardness he felt talking to Mia's sister about his crush was worth finding out that she was single.
